Conditions of Entry to Landsdale Farm

Strive Community Services takes its duty of care to all visitors very seriously where possible fencing, gates and signage are installed for the protection of visitors and animals. This is a working farm and as such there are things that happen that can cause injury if one is careless.  We work hard to rapidly clean and improve any part of the property that is out of order, this is a constant, daily task.

The animals at Landsdale Farm are friendly, however by their nature, can be unpredictable. Further, various biosecurity pre-cautions must also be considered.

1)    Strive Community Services advises visitors who may experience an auto-immune disorder or disease should consider medical advice before visiting farm animals.

2)    Access to animal enclosures may occur from time to time with the support and supervision of a farm employee or volunteer only.

3)    Our animals are very friendly but it is their nature to be unpredictable, we ask that they are treated kindly and with respect at all times. Unlike humans, they are likely to kick, bite, peck, ram, reer and roar if they are chased, grabbed, groped, frightened or feel threatened. FSWA takes not responsibility and accepts no liability for any injury, fright, fear, scrape, scratch, or sprain you may incur from handling or approaching animals or any other experience at Landsdale Farm. Participate your own risk. 

4)    Visitors who have visited any other farm or petting zoo in the past 7 days are required to thoroughly wash their footwear with soap and water. (this is recommended for all visitors on departure from Landsdale Farm as well)

5)    We take great care to ensure even level ground, though ground can shift over time please take care when visiting Landsdale Farm.

6)    For everyone’s safety, personal pets must never join the family on a visit to Landsdale Farm.

7)    Animal welfare is a key priority at Landsdale Farm, second only to safety for humans.

a)     Animals must not be fed any substance that is not provided by staff or volunteers

b)    Participation in feeding or other animal interaction is done under the supervision of farm staff and volunteers.

c)     Treat animals with care and kindness, teasing, chasing and taunting animals is prohibited and may result in an invitation to leave without refund.

8)    Landsdale Farm is a Smoke and Alcohol free venue.

9)    Payment for bookings such as accommodation and venue hire are made in advance

a)     Refunds for cancellation of a booking may be arranged no less than 21 days before the event or booking start date.

b)    Refunds or rescheduling may occur for events effected by an active severe weather warning.

c)     Admission to Landsdale Farm is subject to the conditions above and via paid ticket entry or as a guest of FSWA only

d)    A person must not, without permission, enter Landsdale Farm without an entry ticket.

e) Cancellations that take place due to changes in government regulation or restriction are subject to refund.

10) Strive Community Services may, at their discretion refuse entry to Landsdale Farm to any group of children with a supervision ratio of less than 1 adults to 10 children.

11) We operate rain or shine, cancellations due to weather occurs only in the event of a severe weather warning or bush fire watch and act level warning which impacts on the farm.

12) Admission Tickets are non-refundable. If a refund is made or tickets reissued:

a)     the method of that refund will be at the discretion of FSWA and

b)     Without limitation to any condition herein, refunds may be arranged by Strive Community Services in the event of a severe weather event, hazardous circumstances, goernment restriction or other serious unpredictable event.

13) Hours of operation and admission may vary from time to time or for special events.

14) Adults are required to supervise children aged 16 and under at all times.

15) We welcome your wheelchairs, strollers, prams and other essential mobility aids. For our animals’ welfare and your safety and comfort, non-essential transport (scooters, bicycles, skateboards and roller-skates/blades), sporting items, whistles, balls, balloons and pets are not permitted.

16) FSWA retains the right to deny access and/or eject visitors who are being a public nuisance, acting recklessly or failing to observe directions from Farm staff, or any Landsdale Farm signage. The decision to deny access and/or eject a visitor is made at the absolute discretion of FSWA

17) Unauthorised photography for commercial purposes is prohibited.

18) A person in Landsdale Farm must not—

a)     damage, cut, break, deface, pull, pick, remove or destroy a tree, shrub, plant, property or flower;

b)    hang or attach anything on or to a tree, shrub, plant, flower or structure.

c)     wilfully obstruct, disturb, interrupt or annoy any other person in the proper use or enjoyment of the farm; or

d)    insult, abuse or harass any member of staff or a farm management officer or wilfully obstruct any member of staff or a farm management officer in the execution of his or her duty.
