Growing Green Skills for Everyone
At Landsdale Farm, we believe learning sustainable living should be hands-on, practical, and accessible to everyone.
Through our new Growing Green Skills initiative, we aim to connect the community with real-world learning around gardening, composting, animal care, food systems, and environmental responsibility. The program will bring together school incursions and excursions, community workshops, daily farm activities, volunteering opportunities, and future green skills pathways under one consistent learning framework.
One of our favourite sustainable practices on the farm is composting - a simple way to reduce waste while creating healthy soil for gardens. By combining everyday “green” materials like fruit and veggie scraps with “brown” materials like cardboard, paper, and dry leaves, you can turn household waste into a valuable resource for growing plants and food.
Growing Green Skills is all about helping people build confidence through simple, practical activities that support sustainability, connection to nature, and lifelong learning.
Keep an eye out for farm activities, and sessions as this initiative starts to grow.
